Kong: Skull Island (2017)
Hollywood Blockbuster Kong: Skull Island has been shot mainly in Halong Bay, Ninh Binh, Quang Binh. Halong Bay is depicted as Skull Island – Home to the giant Kong. The surreal landscape has inspired many tourists to visit this attraction.

James Bond:
Tomorrow never dies is the eighth spy movie in the famous James Bond series. Filmed in 1997, the production crew had chosen Halong Bay and Ho Chi Minh city as the shooting scenes.

Unfortunately, the film was never shot in Vietnam due to government permission problem. The Halong scene was shot in Phang Nga Bay, Thailand instead.

Halong Bay: UNESCO Heritage Site
Known for its beauty and mysterious allure, Halong Bay is a place that invites explorers and guarantees adventure. Located of the shore of northern Vietnam, this landmark is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is considered one of the New Seven Natural Wonders of the World. The name Hạ Long means “descending dragon”. Administratively, the bay belongs to Ha Long City, Cam Pha City, and is a part of Van Don District. The bay features thousands of limestone karsts and isles in various shapes and sizes.

Home to World’s Animal
Around 16% of the World’s species can be found in Vietnam. Some of the most famous Vietnamese animals are Great Hornbills, Indian Elephants, Sun bears, Pygmy Slow Loris, Asian Water Monitor, Water Buffaloes, Burmese Pythons, Tigers, Dolphins and many other species.

World’s Largest Cave
If you like to explore caves, you’ll be thrilled to know that Hang Son Doong Cave is the world’s largest natural cave. It has its own river, jungle and climate. The cave is so big that a Boeing 747 could fly through its largest cavern.

Vietnam War
The Vietnam War (1955-1975) is a black-marked event in the histories of both Vietnam and the United States. The US, after losing thousands of soldiers, was effectively badly defeated and forced to retreat.

Ho Chi Minh
Also known as “Great Uncle Ho”, Ho Chi Minh is the founding father of modern Vietnam. He is the symbol of liberation after the War who helped win the war against the US. His remains are mummified and guarded in the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in Hanoi.

Motorbike
Motorbike is the main way of transportation. In most countries, cars and public transportation is the most common way to get around, but not here.

There are more than 45 million registered motorbikes in the country, which means that almost half of the population own their own motorbike!

World’s healthiest food
Vietnamese cuisine is considered amongst the healthiest in the world. Featuring fresh herbs, a lot of vegetables and seafood combined with traditional cooking techniques that avoids frying and oils in their food, this cuisine is considered amongst some of the healthiest in the world.

You might have tried Pho already if you’ve ever been to a Vietnamese restaurant. It’s basically a noodle soup and you will find this everywhere in the country. It is National food of Vietnam

Almost every Vietnamese restaurant will serve this traditional dish, no matter if it’s a street vendor or a fine-dining restaurant.

Literacy Rate
Literacy rate in Vietnam is more than you expect. It has a literacy level of 94.5% for adults aged 15 – 50 years of age.
